Ooh so K can explain it better, but there is the Urdu pronunciation and then there is the original Arabic pronunciation, which is what K prefers (though getting people in the UK to not totally butcher her name is the best she hopes for). 😅 - Paroma
P.S. I think I saw a few other comments from you here. I can't see them any more. I hope it's a case of you deleting them and not substack gobbling them up.😳
yeah i wrote something via the app, wanted to edit it, the substack have no edit option, so wrote a child comment and somehow deleted the parent comment..:D
I have been refreshing my podbean feed daily on my morning walk waiting for this episode! Sorry to hear that you gals have been sick..My cough attack lasts minimum a month so clearly life time of ginger, garlic, turmeric doesn't help you beyond mid thirties😁😞 Glad you are better now..
Thanks Deepa! We feel terrible about how late these episodes are. But we have the listener goguma episode recorded too and it'll be out in a few weeks. We're planning on releasing a shorter episode in between to catch up on recent watches. Being sick really, really sucks. 😅 - Paroma
Im still listening to the podcast but when Anisa mentioned Kim Baek-du, a smile immediately spread across my face and I had to come and second her opinion on what an amazing character he was. I know because I tried sooo hard to watch My Man Is Cupid and ultimately failed and can barely remember the highlights but scenes from LFitS spring to mind like his conversation with himself as he tries to recreat a moment to jog his memory in the middle of the road while his cop friend watches and disowns him completely. Sorry so long but ugh so many excellent moments... his mom and dad excellent pair
Baek-du is iconic! You make such a good point about how sticky he and that drama were... I watched that show close to the beginning of 2024 and I honestly have much clearer memories of it than, say, Marry My Husband which I think aired at the end of summer? It gives me joy to know that me mentioning him gave you joy! 🥰
I was also going to say if Lim ji-yeon is such a wild card interview they may not wanted her to interview during The Glory promos as to not blow her menacing bully persona
So when Anisa started talking about 'Love your enemy', I started watching it. I thought an older(or an ML I can call oppa :D ) cast in a pure romcom..yess! But then many scenes felt soo cringey! I caught myself thinking 'you are old enough to know better'..I realized I am an agist after all..
And wish there were hotter kisses..:D But overall enjoyed it..
Heh they were acting pretty childish and immature at points..tbh the script is just okay, the show really was saved by the music, the gorgeous visuals and most of all the chemistry of its leads. I do think that Joo Ji-hoon carried off the pettiness of a young crush in middle age much better than Jung Yu-mi, just because he was able to infuse it with a lot more humor and charisma, whereas her behaviour sometimes felt a bit forced and over the top. But I liked them so much together that I didn't mind. Like I said, it's not winning any awards, but it's was a solid watch!
Hey Khadija.👋.I would prefer the khalis urdu pronunciation, coz that's where the beauty of our languages lie..but it's your call..

Never apologize for talking about BTS to much💜

Agree!!! I cannot handle the stakes of a sports drama but Kim Baek Du was so endearing! I almost felt motherly towards him and wanted to hug him. ❤
Like Anisa said -Iconic, it's rare to find someone who is just so dang likable, an occasionally cringy, heart on his sleeve kind of awesome
